NTT DMC Expands Regional Tourism Market Through Makassar Business Matching 2026
NTT DMC recently participated in the Makassar Business Matching event, organized by the Ministry of Tourism from September 8-10, 2026, to expand the tourism market for East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The B2B forum connected tourism operators with potential buyers from the travel, corporate, educational, and government sectors.
Oyan Kristian, Director of NTT DMC, stated that the event was a prime opportunity to introduce NTT destinations capable of accommodating large-scale tourist groups and business trips. NTT DMC actively promoted Labuan Bajo, Sumba, and Kupang as key destinations equipped with adequate hotel capacities for corporate gatherings, government working visits, and massive group tours.
Makassar was strategically chosen as a target market due to its position as a major hub for Eastern Indonesia. Oyan also highlighted the crucial role of air connectivity, noting that direct flights like the Makassar-Labuan Bajo route provide excellent access for tourists. While acknowledging current challenges such as volcanic activity affecting the Maumere route and high ticket prices, NTT DMC remains optimistic that these new B2B collaborations will significantly boost tourist visits to NTT.
